FRI FEB 14 | Be Mine? an intimate evening with The Artichoke Hearts | 8:00pm

Join us for an intimate night of music and love with The Artichoke Hearts and special guest KJ Thomas

The Artichoke Hearts is an indie folk-pop collective based in Ottawa-Gatineau. Having released their first full-length record No Other Road to a sold-out crowd at the NAC Fourth Stage in October, and playing the Ottawa Bluesfest, and Wakefield’s own Musical Mondays last summer, the ‘Chokes can’t wait to bring their new sound to the Motel Chelsea on Feb. 14th for a special Valentine’s day show.

Originally comprised of Wakefield local, singer-songwriter-guitarist Caitlin Dolan, pianist Kim Jackson, violinist Jessie Lyon, and now Carolynne Ball on trumpet and vocals; for this new record the ‘Chokes teamed up with producer/recording engineer Dean Watson (Buckingham Palace Audio) who helped them take their folky sound to the next level with the addition of accordion, synth, drums and bass. No Other Road is a reflective masterclass in facing your dark side, letting go of expectations and embracing personal growth. Their live show is a vulnerable fusion of bewitching melodies, haunting harmonies and classically-driven solos.
